'Jobs' Movie Unveils Multimedia-Heavy Website

The team behind the forthcoming Steve Jobs biopic starring Ashton Kutcher is taking promotional tactics to the next level. Along with an already intense social-media hype strategy, the official website for Jobs is now up and running.

The site features a variety of multimedia components, including Instagram trailers, Tumblr GIFs, photos and video clips, as well as links to the movie's social-media profiles (which are already heavily advertising Jobs).

On the heels of a trio of Instagram-trailer releases and a movie-poster reveal (above), the highly visual website rounds up much of the film's promotional assets in Tumblr-oriented fashion, so visitors can watch videos and check out GIFs, then reblog or share with others.

Earlier in July, distributor Open Road Films released an updated synopsis for the film:

It only takes one person to start a revolution. The extraordinary story of Steve Jobs, the original innovator and ground-breaking entrepreneur who let nothing stand in the way of greatness. The film tells the epic and turbulent story of Jobs as he blazed a trail that changed technology -- and the world -- forever.

Jobs premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, and garnered mixed reviews.

The film is slated to hit theaters on Aug. 16; it stars Ashton Kutcher as Jobs and Josh Gad as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

A YouTube trailer for Jobs arrived in June. Watch it, below:
