As part of the NFL's domestic violence and sexual assault education sessions that kicked off Wednesday, NFL owners were shown a video starring former linebacker Joe Ehrmann.

In the video, originally obtained by ABC News, and later shared on former football player Troy Vincent's Facebook, Ehrmann pleads players and members of the NFL to consider the women in their own lives in respect to domestic violence.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));

Post by Troy Vincent.

"What's a team? A team is nothing more than a set of relationships for a cause," Ehrmann said. "But every team is built on the trust, the respect, the integrity and the dignity of every team member."

The NFL came under harsh criticism in August following the release of footage of then-Ravens player Ray Rice assaulting his fiancee, now wife, Janay Palmer, and the subsequent mild reaction by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

The education programs are 40 minutes long, according to the Associated Press, and they will "examine workplace policy, disciplinary considerations." The sessions will be presented to all 32 teams, as well as owners, coaches and league personnel, by the end of the season.

The program has had positive reception thus far, Deana Garner, the league’s director of player engagement and education, tells the AP.

“They were very engaged,” she said. “They recognized the importance of this initial education program and that it will set a standard.”
