There are some people who like Christmas music, and there are some people who really, really like Christmas music.

We're willing to bet the Austrian radio host who blockaded himself in his studio and played Wham's "Last Christmas" 24 times in a row falls into the latter category. His listeners probably fall into the third category, which is "People who never, ever want to hear another Christmas song again, ever".

Renegade DJ Joe Kohlhofer, who works for Austrian station Antenne Kärnten, used a chair to shut himself in the studio, according to the Daily Telegraph. He communicated with listeners -- many of whom were begging him to stop -- and his colleagues, but wouldn't let anyone into the studio with him.

Kohlhofer's festive run was finally brought to an end by his four-year-old daughter, who asked him to stop after she was put on the phone with him.

Unsurprisingly, the stunt got quite a bit of attention on Facebook. Here's a selection of some of the comments that were coming in during the Wham-athon (aided by some mildly tenuous Facebook translations).

Obviously there were a few objections, but for the most part everyone seemed to find the whole thing pretty funny.

So, was the whole thing a setup or did Kohlhofer genuinely go rogue?

Well according to the Telegraph the radio station didn't know about the stunt in advance, but the polished nature of the video shared on their YouTube channel -- coupled with the above picture -- suggests at least a few others must have been in on the joke.

Either way it's still an impressive effort.
