U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has been racking up the frequent-flier miles since taking office on Feb. 1, 2013. In recent weeks, he has tried to mediate an escalating conflict in South Sudan, met with the leaders of Angola, Ethiopia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, all while trying to avoid an armed conflict between the U.S. and Russia over Ukraine.
