John Legend and Chrissy Teigen's Ordinary People is one step closer to your small screen.

The show, loosely based on the couple's life together, has landed a put pilot deal at ABC, Deadline reports. (A put pilot deal is a strong indication that the network will pick up a series; basically, it's an agreement that the network will air the pilot as either a special or the beginning of a series.) Naturally, the power couple will executive produce the series.

Representatives for Legend and Teigen have not yet responded to Mashable's request for comment. But Teigen did retweet a report about the pilot news on her official Twitter account, confirming the reports.

Tracy Oliver (Survivor's Remorse) will write the show, and Kenya Barris (Black-ish) will also executive produce. The show will revolve around "an interracial couple with very different personalities and big ambitions."

Both Teigen and Legend have been amping up their involvement in the TV world. Legend produced the HBO documentary Southern Rites earlier this year, and will also produce the upcoming WGN America series Underground.

Meanwhile, Teigen is currently a co-host of both the comedic contest show Lip Sync Battle and the new talk show FABLife.
