RIP Jon Stewart, 1962-2015.

After 16 years sitting behind a desk as The Daily Show's legendary host, Stewart is out celebrating retirement like any 52-year-old would -- by getting body-slammed into oblivion on a live WWE broadcast.

Stewart, a longtime pro wrestling fan, hosted WWE's SummerSlam event over the weekend. He seemed to have a good time, posturing and pontificating in the ring, and came back for more on Monday Night Raw.

That's when things took a turn for the (fake) worse. We won't bore you with the backstory, but basically, here is WWE superstar John Cena hoisting Stewart onto his shoulders before dumping him to the mat in a ginormous body-slam.

#DownGoesStewart! #DownGoesStewart! @JohnCena just did what he HAD to do on Monday Night #Raw... @RicFlairNatrBoy http://t.co/dQNfzDrybx— WWE (@WWE) August 25, 2015

Talk about a moment of zen. Even in retirement, Stewart remains a legend.
