So much for retirement, Jon.

A Change.org petition calling for former Daily Show host Jon Stewart to moderate one of the 2016 presidential debates has nearly 150,000 signatures at the time of this writing.

Mariel Waters of New Jersey, who created the petition, may have a point though. Check out Stewart's qualifications:

Mr. Stewart has interviewed 15 heads of state, 22 members of the United States Cabinet, 32 members of the United States Senate [and] 7 members of the United States House of Representatives," it reads. The petition also cites the Daily Show's two election-coverage Peabody Awards, won in 2000 and 2004.

At least one presidential hopeful is on board, too.

Signed. Jon Stewart moderating or not, #WeNeedDebate. http://t.co/6EGRAv8ypn pic.twitter.com/PN48kZ29fr— Martin O'Malley (@MartinOMalley) August 20, 2015

There's no word yet on how Stewart would react to such a call, though he has always maintained that he is a comedian first.
