Joni Mitchell is on the mend, according to a statement on her official website. Friend and conservator, Leslie Morris, shared this update on Sunday about the singer's health:

Joni did in fact suffer an aneurysm. However, details that have emerged in the past few days are mostly speculative. The truth is that Joni is speaking, and she's speaking well. She is not walking yet, but she will be in the near future as she is undergoing daily therapies. She is resting comfortably in her own home and she's getting better each day. A full recovery is expected.

The celebrated folk singer was taken to an intensive care in Los Angeles on March 31 after she was found unconscious in her home. Rumors quickly began spreading about Mitchell's condition. Most recently, friend and musician David Crosby told The Huffington Post that she was "not speaking yet."

Morris attempted to squash rumors by posting official updates about Mitchell's health. Famous friends, including Prince, also sent well-wishes to the ailing performer.

The 71-year-old has won eight Grammys in her lengthy career. Best known for her songs "Big Yellow Taxi" and "Woodstock," Mitchell's poetic lyrics and folk style made her a musical icon of the '60s and '70s.
