Joost has just released the latest beta, version 1.0 for Macs and Windows. A few changes include the new "spoon" UI, which looks cool enough, and sports a new transparent gray theme instead of the previous all black. There's also a re-designed Channel Guide, which has been renamed Explore. This gives you an animated, interactive list of channels according to your category selection from your left hand menu bar. Unfortunately, some of the functionality seems to have been downgraded for this particular feature in lieu of making it prettier, as it's now more difficult to add and delete channels.
When it comes to Mac users, this latest beta release is more tolerant of bad network connections, and will continually retry broken streams before stalling the video. In other Joost news, the Internet television company has partnered with Paramount, the Vancouver Film School, and the MLB.
