Joost announces today that it has signed distribution partnerships with several independent film and television producers and distributors.
Joost, the Internet TV platform that's still in private beta, has signed deals with ALL3MEDIA International, Alliance, Atlantis, IndieFlix, September Films, Shorts International and Wall to Wall Content. These producers and distributors will now have content featured on Joost's platform, increasing the potential for their distribution channel, especially once Joost launches. The reach and quality of Joost is appealing to many content providers, and is especially alluring to the indie film industry, as Joost will bring a superior viewing experience to its users. Quality is especially important for indie filmmakers, and while the Internet has provided a launching pad for many in the indie realm, a powerful distribution channel such as Joost could prove exceedingly beneficial to indie films, as their content will be available on demand for viewers.
Joost's announcement comes on the heel of Jalipo's release, another emerging Internet TV platform that operates on a pre-paid credit system. Jalipo also has worked out deals with a limited number of television networks, but Joost's continued ability to bring in premium content at no cost will cause them to prevail.
