NBA player J.R. Smith buys cotton candy during his own game

Walking, talking human meme J.R. Smith is already in mid-season form.

Smith was one of several Cleveland Cavaliers who sat out the team's NBA pre-season game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night.

But that didn't stop Smith from having some fun. During the first half of Monday's game, he flagged down a roving cotton candy vendor to satisfy his sweet tooth. Cavs blogger Jared Mueller caught the deal on camera.

Smith's cotton candy purchase follows another Cavs pre-season contest in which LeBron James took a selfie with excited young fans mid-game.
