In the middle of the street, twisting bodies can be seen soaring through the air with no care in the world. Kids jump on huge trampolines set between two blocks of apartments in Alexandra Township in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The two public trampolines offer the children a moment of joy and an escape from their harsh daily lives. Despite being one of the poorest urban areas in the country, "Alex," as it is known to its residents is a colorful and vibrant place with a lively atmosphere.

Six gymnasts of the Alexandra Trampoline Club were selected to represent South Africa at the 2014 Indo Pacific Championships.

Their jumps might not be the perfect somersaults or flips, but the expression on the kids faces say it all. Should you be willing to make a contribution to the Alexandra Trampoline Club you can find more information on their website.
