LONDON -- Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met the Queen in Buckingham Palace for a private audience on Wednesday, but it wasn't the first time the two met.

Trudeau met Queen Elizabeth II as a child when his father Pierre Trudeau was Canada's prime minister

"Very nice to see you again,” the Queen reportedly said, adding that the 6 feet 1 inch tall prime minister seemed "much taller" since the last time they met, according to The Globe and Mail.

After the private audience, the Queen met Trudeau's wife Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau and two of the couple's children.

Famously, Pierre Trudeau was caught on camera doing a pirouette behind the monarch during a 1977 visit. The younger Trudeau avoided another international sensation, even managing to get a smile out of the octogenarian monarch.
