Argo the German shephard had been fighting a tenuous battle against bone cancer for months, and during a touching goodbye, the K-9 dog was honored with a "final call" by the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office in Texas. It was a small, private ceremony only given to those who pass in the line of duty.

The narcotics detention and police tracking dog began training in 2009, and since then, has been credited with uncovering thousands pounds of narcotics that were connected to felons. The office described him as a "shining example" of his breed.
