A photo of a large kangaroo staring down passing cars in Victoria, Australia has taken the Internet by storm.

The image, snapped by Reddit user Brotary, prompted numerous -- and varied -- theories from other Redditors about the roo's real intentions. Why was it standing there? Was it just waiting for a safe crossing, or was something more sinister afoot? Was it headed to an important business meeting? Was it waiting for Frank Ocean's album to be released?

Some users felt that the kangaroo's intentions were fairly straightforward. "Just waiting until it's safe to cross, bruh," user Captainbosspirate wrote. Others thought the kangaroo might have extraterrestrial motivations. "Kangaroos are like aliens," JCarpx2 explained.

One user, who may understand kangaroos better than most, seemed terrified at the possibilities. "It would kick the sh!t out of you and rip you apart!" MrWhite2020 said. Resident jokester, tani_P, also weighed in: "You got some weird crossing guards down under."

Many redditors commented critically about the kangaroo's size. Stickbugs wrote, "I don't know about you, but that is an unreasonably sized roo." Perhaps they need a visit from the super-buff-metal-crushing kangaroo, Roger, to set the record straight.

So, why did the kangaroo want to cross the road? Sorry, Internet -- we may never know.
