Kanye West's inspirational acceptance speech at Sunday's VMAs might have seemed like a meticulously planned political ploy, the kind of thing he learned from his dear friend Hillary Clinton. But -- stay with us for a second -- that speech may have actually just been stream of consciousness.

As you'll see in this clip, an audience member near the front of the crowd shouted "Kanye for president!" right before West made his now historic announcement.

So maybe Kanye deciding to throw his hat into the ring for the 2020 election was spontaneous. But that doesn't change the fact that it's what the people want. This is a democracy, and the citizens shall prevail.

Listen to the kids, bro.
