The college dropout has something to say.
Kanye West once again hopped onto Twitter, his digital soapbox, to voice concerns about an issue close to his heart. This time, it's the price of higher education and textbooks.
He started off with an anecdote about a friend who makes $370 a day and is holding down two jobs in order to send her son to college. However, textbooks are so expensive that according to West, she may not be able to.

Of course, many paused to do the math on the $370 a day figure.
Must be nice to think $370 a day isn't much https://t.co/jZKc8cZetb— Neda Kalantar (@Neda_Kalantar) February 16, 2016
$370 x 5 = $1850 a week.
$1850 x 52 = $96,200.
lmao u want me to feel sorry for someone making 100k a year? https://t.co/twLoQVfHNw— zaym (@itszaym) February 16, 2016
Though there were also counterpoints.
"$370 a day is a lot of money" yet she's struggling to put her son through college. That's his point. Think deeper.— Keith (@StrangeKeith) February 16, 2016
Anyway, West carried on, referencing his idol, Steve Jobs.
Steve Jobs wanted to lower the cost of textbooks…— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 16, 2016
Education puts Americans into debt before they even get a chance to get started…— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 16, 2016

We gotta do it.
I’d rather teachers got paid more and books cost less … #2020— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 16, 2016
