Katy Perry is taking her fireworks to the Super Bowl stage.

Billboard and Page Six have both confirmed with sources that the singer will perform during Super Bowl XLIX halftime show in Arizona on Feb. 1, 2015.

Rumors have circulated for months that Perry was on a halftime short list that also included Rihanna and Coldplay. But then news broke that the NFL was asking performers to compensate the league for performing, citing other artists who have seen significant publicity boosts after their Super Bowl spotlight.

Perry, who appeared on an ESPN's College GameDay last weekend, addressed the situation, telling the hosts, "I’m not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl."

Bruno Mars headlined last year's show which brought in a record-setting 111.5 million viewers.

Perry is the first female artist to have five No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 singles from the same album (Michael Jackson comes in second). She is also the most popular person on Twitter with 58.1 million followers.

Perry's reps and the NFL declined to provide comment to Mashable.
