Katy Perry, consider taking a step back-- this is not about you.

The pop singer shared her thoughts on Taylor Swift's response to Nicki Minaj's MTV Video Awards tweets and mostly just made it all about herself.

Perry's tweet, below, references the rumor that Swift's single "Bad Blood" was written about their tense relationship.

Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman...— KATY PERRY (@katyperry) July 22, 2015

The tweet does not address Minaj's initial disappointment in the lack of high-profile MTV Video Music Award nominations for her video for "Anaconda." It also doesn't consider Minaj's original point that institutional racism is alive and well in the music industry and in the media at large.

They're not missing the point, they're just attempting to overshadow the point. Oldest trick in the book. https://t.co/Y4dt1vKk6C— NICKI MINAJ (@NICKIMINAJ) July 21, 2015

In short, maybe just sit this one out, Perry.
