Keith Richards knows exactly how the public views him.

"Smoking a joint, bottle in his hand, cursing the fact that the liquor store's closed," he jokes in the trailer for his Netflix documentary Keith Richards: Under the Influence by Morgan Neville.

The legendary Rolling Stones guitarist stars in the career-spanning film, which tracks his rise as an artist. The trailer also shows the 71-year-old musician waxing nostalgic about life and aging.

"Nobody wants to get old, but they don't want to die young either," he muses. "You've just got to follow this thing down the path."

Keith Richards: Under the Influence will be released on Netflix on Sept. 18.
