The duo is lending their Twitter/star power to a KelloggCares Facebook campaign that's attempting to raise at least a million dollars for the Feeding America organization. To boot, Kutcher's Katalyst media company has partnered with Kellogg and Feeding America to collect user created video submissions via social media sites.
The Fighting to End Hunger video (available here), directed by Demi Moore and playing on the KelloggCares Facebook Page, is a mashup of video content submitted by social media denizens who were inspired by Kutcher and Moore's Twitter and Facebook requests for submissions. It's a thought-provoking video with the ultimate goal being to raise awareness about the growing percentage of Americans that are struggling with hunger.
The Facebook Page for the campaign not only includes content around how you can support the cause, but also a way to donate to Feeding America. Also, in appreciation of your donation, the Kellogg Company, who donated $10 million worth of cereal in April to Feeding America, will give you $5 in printable online coupons.
At Mashable, we're firm believers that social media can be used as a platform for social good, and if these inspiring tales, and our own Summer of Social Good charity drive, don't convince you of the benevolent opportunities that social media enables, then hopefully this campaign will change your mind. We hope, at the very least, you'll watch the video and continue to spread the word about this important campaign.
