Kerry Washington knows how to handle a scandal.
HBO has shared the first look of the actress playing Anita Hill in the TV biopic Confirmation. The film revolves around the 1991 Clarence Thomas Supreme Court nomination hearing, where Hill, a law professor at the time, accused Thomas of sexual harassment.
The accusation rocked the country and started a massive debate on harassment in the workplace.

The Emmy-nominated Washington is a perfect fit for the role, currently starring in Scandal, the high drama series about Olivia Pope, a former lawyer turned professional "fixer."
Washington is also an executive producer for Confirmation. Rick Famuyiwa (Dope) will direct the film, which also stars Cobie Smulders, Jennifer Hudson, Wendell Pierce and Greg Kinnear. There is no set release date.
