Kerry Washington has taken some time off from playing badass Olivia Pope on Scandal to design a limited edition handbag.
The actress, who is an ambassador for the Allstate Foundation's Purple Purse campaign, which strives to create long-term safety for domestic violence survivors through financial support, partnered with Tommy Hilfiger's wife Dee Ocleppo, to create a purple leather clutch.
Twenty-five-percent of the bag's proceeds will be donated to the foundation. The clutch is available for purchase exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue for $350.

"Our campaign uses the purse as a symbol to educate people about domestic violence and the financial abuse that usually traps women in violent relationships," Washington explains in the campaign video below.
The foundation is launching a fundraising campaign on Oct. 1, called The Allstate Foundation Purple Purse Challenge, where charities benefiting domestic violence survivors raise funds. The team that raises the most wins a $100,000 donation, with four runner-up prizes ranging from $75,000 to $20,000.
This is the second purse Washington has helped design for the cause. The first garnered $2.5 million.

"We hope it will inspire survivors to reclaim their financial independence," Washington says.
