Call it something like comedy Inception.

Last night on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the host welcomed legendary funny lady Carol Burnett. Burnett, an icon herself, shared with Stephen her love for her own comedy idol, Jimmy Stewart -- who was known for surprising Burnett on the final episode of The Carol Burnett Show.

Luckily, someone else was waiting in the wings to launch another sneak-up on Burnett. Enter Kevin Spacey with a hand-written ditty.

Spacey showed his charm, wit and convincing Jimmy Stewart impression with a leisurely poetry reading dedicated to Burnett.

Spacey lovingly meandered through lines like "Carol Burnett is a wonderful gal/ She always makes me laugh somehow/ All she has to do is put on that silly grin/ and I get this funny feeling all over my chin." When you listen, you can't keep the warm and fuzzies away -- just ask Carol's misty eyes.
