For some reason, Amazon repeatedly uses the formulation "Kindle apps for tablet computers (including the iPad)" several times on the official page; perhaps Amazon is implying that iPad is not just another tablet, or maybe it's preparing for possible rejection of the app -- which is definitely a possibility, since it competes with Apple's iBookstore.

As for the features, Amazon promises that apps will be "tailored to the size, look and feel of your tablet computer," with customizable background, brightness and font. That nifty page turn animation that iPad has? Yep, the Kindle app will have it too (unless you choose to shut it down and use the "Basic Reading Mode").

Furthermore, Kindle for tablets will include Whispersync, with the ability to start reading on one device and continue on another, as well as full access to the Kindle store. Check out some screenshots below.
