LONDON -- Cats always enjoy exploring strange places, and most of the time they're nimble enough to do it without getting into any trouble.

Not always, though. Five-week-old kitten Dusty is the perfect example of when exploration goes a tad wrong; after she clambered into a wheelie bin and got her head stuck, the RSPCA had to work with firefighters to get her free.

“When I arrived, I saw the head of the kitten poking out from this bin -- it was so unusual and I have never seen anything like it before," RSPCA inspector Steve Morrall said in a press release.

“It is very likely she was looking for food in the bin, but panicked when the bin was being emptied and got herself stuck."

The RSPCA enlisted the help of the West Midlands Fire Service, who eventually freed the hapless feline using a combination of a plastic collar and some lubricant. It's not known if the kitten has an owner, but she's currently under the care of the RSPCA, who have announced that she's healthy and well.

They're hoping to rehome her soon.
