AUSTIN -- Klout CEO Joe Fernandez stopped by Mashable House at South by Southwest to chat about the importance of relationships between marketers and online influencers.

His San Francisco-based startup, which since its quiet 2009 launch at SXSW has measured engagement and activity on social networks to determine people's online influence, rewards users through Klout Perks. That incentives program and Klout's Brand Squads has attracted big brands that want to reward their top brand advocates.

In the above video, Fernandez also reveals why cops came to Klout's rowdy party this year and who has been his favorite celebrity sighting at SXSW since 2009.
