Koko, the gorilla famous for her mastery of American Sign Language, really loves kittens. She got her first fuzzy little friend in 1984, and impressed her caretakers with the emotional connection she forged with All Ball.

For Koko's 44th birthday, she was given the opportunity to select two new kitten friends -- Ms. Gray and Ms. Black.

The devoted kitties immediately get to work styling her fur. Koko, in turn, requests that the kittens get the seat of honor by signing an order for her little friends to be placed on top of her head.

Kitten crowns are so in this fall.
