Samsung has launched an upgraded variant of its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5, in its home market of Korea.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A, has a 5.1-inch screen with a super-crisp QHD (2560x1440 pixel) resolution, making it the smartphone with the highest pixel density around (557 ppi).

For comparison, LG's recently launched G3 has the same resolution, but on a larger, 5.5-inch screen, making for an effective pixel density of 538 ppi.

The new Galaxy S5 is also the first to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset. Together with 3GB of RAM, it should be able to handle games and 4K playback with ease.

Finally, the device supports the super-fast LTE-Advanced protocol (hence the name), allowing for download speeds as fast as 225Mbps.

Other than these (quite important) changes, the rest of the Galaxy S5 LTE-A seems to be the same as the original S5, including the 16-megapixel camera and Android 4.4.

For now, the Galaxy S5 LTE-A will only bring joy to the faces of consumers in Korea, but it gives us a good idea of where Samsung is headed to next.
