Search engine Kosmix has found itself launching a series of successful search verticals that pull in collective sets of data pertaining to their independent focus. Having already launched an automobile site, Kosmix's most recent search vertical was for health, launched this past September. Called RightHealth, the health-focused aspect of Kosmix has since seen a good amount of growth; a reported 56% since its launch.

Thanks in part to the success of its search verticals, Kosmix has raised $10 million in investment, led by new investor DAG Ventures, with participation from current investors Accel and Lightspeed. As indicated with the launch of RightHealth, Kosmix's plans involve the launching of additional search verticals for as many topics as possible. You may recall that each vertical acts as a start page for the given topic, with links to news, blogs, videos, and even communities.

The online health space is experiencing a lot of attention this year overall. Recently launched Revolution Health has been particularly active, acquiring and investing in a number of other health-related sites and services in an effort to make itself a larger and more resourceful hub for the online health sector. Wellocities is another niche online health tool that's received funding earlier this year.
