As defined by tabloids, a "gal pal" is a female celebrity's female significant other -- and an appropriate caption for paparazzi shots of the couple together. Out to coffee? Gal pals. Grocery shopping? Gal pals. Holding hands on a tropical vacation? Gal pals. Shopping for engagement rings? Gal pals.

Kristen Stewart and visual effects producer Alicia Cargile have been well-documented "gal pals" since Stewart's very public split from her Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson.

When she's not being called Stewart's "gal pal," Cargile has often been mislabeled as Stewart's assistant -- because the two spend so much time together, and what other explanation could there possibly be?

Now Stewart is addressing the rumors by simply pointing out that her sexuality shouldn't be a big deal to the general public.

"Google me, I'm not hiding," Stewart told Nylon Magazine when asked about her orientation. "I think in three or four years, there are going to be a whole lot more people who don’t think it's necessary to figure out if you’re gay or straight. It’s like, just do your thing."

KStew explains that a formal coming out isn't her style, but she supports anyone who does it.

“If you feel like you really want to define yourself, and you have the ability to articulate those parameters and that in itself defines you, then do it," she said. "But I am an actress, man. I live in the f*cking ambiguity of this life and I love it. I don’t feel like it would be true for me to be like, ‘I’m coming out!’"

So, there you go. Kristen Stewart, who was the first American actress to win the French equivalent of an Oscar but is still dismissed as tabloid fodder, would rather discuss her movies than her personal life. But that doesn't mean she thinks she has anything to be ashamed of.
