Kristin Davis may have starred in the beloved television show Sex and the City, but that doesn't mean she wants to talk about it endlessly when there are more important things to discuss.

Davis, an ambassador for the United Nation's refugee agency, the UNHCR, is in Australia to discuss a recent mission to the Congo. She made her only breakfast television appearance on Sunrise Thursday morning, but it did not go particularly well.

Sunrise hosts David Koch and Sam Armytage discussed her work with the UNHCR for a few minutes, before turning the rest of her segment into a rehash of the television show.

The appearance featured a rather ham-fisted Sex and the City skit featuring Armytage as Carrie, and fellow hosts Edwina Bartholomew as Samantha and a red wig-wearing Natalie Barr as Miranda. Davis played along, reprising her role as Charlotte York. Get ready to cringe.

Following the skit, the public spoke up on social media to express their frustration, with Davis retweeting and replying to comments about her hijacked television appearance.

@sueconwayc Thank you so much. Hopefully someone will let me talk about @Refugees— Kristin Davis (@KristinDavis) February 10, 2016

@KristinDavis just wow. That was the worst piece of TV I've ever seen. Kristin, you and your charity work is great. ❤️ Shame @sunriseon7 — Paris Bates (@parisjasmineb) February 10, 2016

@tammygamble I don't think that!— Kristin Davis (@KristinDavis) February 10, 2016

Sunrise have expressed regret for the incident. "We are Sex and the City tragics at Sunrise," Sunrise executive producer Michael Pell told Mashable Australia in an emailed statement. "Our obsession may have gotten the better of us. We apologise for the bad acting and terrible costumes and we thank Kristin for being such a good sport. She is one of the most gracious stars we’ve had at Brekky Central."

Davis was set to appear alongside Armytage again at an Australia for UNHCR event on Friday, but the Sunrise presenter was dumped as the event's host according to an Australia for UNHCR representative in The Guardian.

UPDATED: Friday, Feb. 12 1:35 p.m. AEDT with claims that Sunrise presenter Samantha Armytage was dumped as host of the Ausralia for UNHCR event.
