[Warning: Spoilers ahead if you haven't seen the season 26 premiere of The Simpsons!]

Prior to The Simpsons season premiere Sunday night, things were looking grim for Krusty the Clown.

Previews for the episode titled "Clown in the Dumps" hinted heavily that Springfield's most washed-up comedian might be headed for the graveyard.

When the episode finally aired, it became clear that Krusty's father, Rabbi Krustofski, would be the one dying. In true Simpsons-style character death, the episode title was a red herring meant to throw off fans.

Krusty's daydream sequence in the episode's final scene did leave us with a slight suggestion that he may be joining his father in "Jewish Heaven" sometime soon. In a duet between the clown and his father, Rabbi Krustofski sings, "And I can't wait 'til you join me next week."

Whether it's a hint of things to come, or just another Simpsons red herring, we're glad Krusty lives to "Hey, hey!" for at least another week.
