Kyte, the online video-sharing and broadcasting website, has just announced new investors, telecommunications provider Swisscom and Holtzbrinck Ventures, which have invested in Kyte for an undisclosed amount.
Swisscom and Holtzbrink Ventures is the venture capital arm of one of Germany's most influential media companies. Kyte has also received investment from Kalus Hommels, Oliver Jung, and Peter Schupbach, all noted angel investors in Germany. This succeeds Kyte's first round of funding which included Atomico, Draper Fisher Jurveston and Ron Conway, who have invested in sites like Skype, Hotmail and Google. Kyte sees their investment from Swisscom a strategic move into the European market, especially considering the broadcasting options they currently have via PC and mobile, and the television broadcasting options their hope for in the future.
