EARLIER: One of the weirdest women in music is joining the weirdest show on TV.
FX has confirmed that Lady Gaga will be joining the next installment of Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story franchise in the starring role.

No details were available on the role and little is known about the season as a whole, but in January, FX president John Langraf told TVLine he had hope that the upcoming season would take place in a modern-day setting.
This year's installment of the anthology, which wrapped up in January, was a period piece that centered on a traveling freak show. The new season of American Horror Story debuts in October.
