Lady Gaga and Chicago Fire's Taylor Kinney may be an unexpected couple, but even cynics have to admit they're kind of sweet. Like how they enjoy painting all over their naked bodies.

The ritual, which was apparently initiated by Kinney, made its way from their first love nest "on the floor of a beach shack" to the cover of V Magazine, which Gaga guest edited this month. Kinney snapped a mirror selfie on a paint-covered canvas after having sex -- in the name of art, of course.

Gaga went into more details in her editor's letter, which is truly illuminating.

“We made love on the canvas on a Sunday in Chicago. We made love amidst chaos. We talked about shootings," she wrote in the fashion magazine. "We made love amidst terrorism. And we talked about how people’s hearts are also suffering all over the world as they watch and witness a swell of violence. We made love amidst violence.”

So it's not just a sex painting, it's a sex painting with a purpose. This sex painting fights violence.

“During tumultuous times, we hope everyone in the world will see this and be reminded to love each other wildly, generously, totally, colorfully, without fear and with compassionate hearts,” Gaga continued. “We made a galaxy of endless colors with only brief, black holes of emptiness that are then filled by each other.”

James Franco also interviews Gaga for the magazine.

This very special issue, which has 16 covers total and is selling for $50. The proceeds go toward Gaga's Born This Way Foundation, which empowers young people.
