Last.fm Radio Station Launches in Four Cities

It's official: Last.fm has jumped from your computer to your car radio.

In September, CBS (the parent company of Last.fm) announced that they were going to launch a new radio station on CBS Radio HD, - "Last.fm Discovers" - powered entirely by the Last.fm weekly charts.

Just a few hours ago, Last.fm Discovers launched in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago. The social music experiment has gone to another level.

While CBS was initially sparse on details of what programming would comprise the new station, they've now revealed the core programming of Last.fm Discovers. It includes:

- "Last.fm Recommends with Bryan VanGelder:" A program that plays a popular song on Last.fm followed by two related and recommended songs by the social music service.

- "Last.fm Discovers with Sat Bisla:" The flagship program of the new radio station, it focuses on the Last.fm weekly charts.

- "Shouts:" The station will choose comments left on Last.fm about specific songs, read them aloud, and then play the song the comment is about
