The folks at CBS seem to be happy with the acquisition of music-sharing and recommendation site Last.fm. The company has released the numbers today, and it looks like Last.fm has sustained 59% growth while increasing page views, which have gone up to 58%. That equals a reported 21 million active users across the globe, on a monthly basis.
The positive numbers were pretty much expected for Last.fm given the recent initiatives the site has pushed forward. After a couple of months of waiting around to see how the media company would integrate Last.fm since acquiring it last year, CBS and Last.fm came out with a fairly big release, offering free, on-demand streaming music for users. Considering the changes CBS has been making to its online radio services, it's clear that online music and music-sharing is an important way in which CBS is looking to grow a far-reaching online strategy.
