Last.fm is holding a live concert in partnership with Hot Chip and five other UK bands in an effort to raise money for Spitz.

The Spitz venue is a live music, gallery, bar and bistro: a place for up-and-coming underground artists to build a fan base and perform live gigs. Sadly, it's getting ready to close. So to help Spitz raise enough money to find a new location, Last.fm is holding this live concert at the Spitz, featuring Lost Penguin and Turbowolf along with a DJ set from Hot Chip. This will be the first of many live concerts Last.fm will be holding over the next few months in order to offer more recognition for unknown artists. The concert is at The Spitz in London, on September 11, with a required donation amount of £3 at the door--all proceeds of course going to the Spitz relocation efforts.

MySpace has set on its own initiative for live concerts as well, kicking off with its tour next month as well.
