Launch of iPad Newspaper "The Daily" Pushed Back Several Weeks [REPORT]

Launch of News Corp's iPad-specific newspaper The Daily will not happen next week, as previously reported, and has instead been pushed back several weeks, All Things Digital reports.

The launch was indeed planned for next week, but Apple needed some more time to fine tune its new subscription service for publications sold through iTunes, according to sources familiar with the matter. The launch date has been delayed “for weeks, not months,” the source says.

The Daily will be sold only on the iPad for $0.99 per edition, and customers will be automatically billed on a weekly or a monthly basis. News Corp. is said to have hired a staff of 100 people solely for this project, and rumor has it that Apple has taken special care to make The Daily a great reading experience on the iPad.
