The hills are alive with the sound of litigation. But if you're gonna go down for something, it might as well involve surfing dogs.

Photo agency Incredible Features Inc. is suing The Hills star Lauren Conrad for using two very cool photos of dogs surfing on her website without permission, according to TMZ. Since Lauren uses the website to promote her business ventures, including her Kohl's clothing line, it's not really the same thing as posting extremely cute pictures to your personal Tumblr.

Did LC's reality television nemesis, Spencer Pratt, orchestrate the whole thing? He could be playing the long game.

Conrad is a known fan of pups whose rise to fame is about as synonymous with SoCal as you can get -- so surfing dog imagery is a perfect trap. Did Pratt somehow plant those adorable licensed photos in front of Conrad's eyes, knowing she wouldn't be able to resist incorporating them into her lifestyle brand? Can't you just see him rubbing his hands together, waiting for the perfect LC to finally slip up?

In any event, here are some legally acquired pictures of dogs surfing for your enjoyment:
