New Web Comedy Focuses on Startups & Entrepreneurship [VIDEO]

Leap Year, a new scripted web series about the trials and tribulations of founding a startup, makes its debut Monday on Hulu. Attendees at Mashable Connect got a sneak peek at the entrepreneur-focused comedy last month.

Leap Year is about five friends who find themselves competing in a contest to get funding for their new startup. The show was produced by CJP Digital Media, in association with Happy Little Guillotine Films and Attention Span Media for Hiscox USA, an insurance provider for startups.

The show is unique in the pantheon of web video because it's branded entertainment, but with an eye on realism. Viewers can expect to see cameos from real-life entrepreneurs like Guy Kawasaki, Gary Vaynerchuk and Mashable Editor in Chief Adam Ostrow.

Hiscox also partnered with The Young Entrepreneur Council (Y.E.C.) and Mashable to create ancillary content for the show by way of editorials and a mini web-series called #MyStartupStory.
