Cavaliers superstar LeBron James crashed into Australian golfer Jason Day's wife, Ellie, courtside, sending her to hospital on a stretcher.

On Thursday night, Ellie was watching an NBA game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Oklahoma City Thunder with her husband, when James -- who weighs 250 pounds or 113 kilograms -- landed on her after saving a ball.

In the last four minutes of the fourth quarter, the star player landed on Ellie backwards, knocking over her seat and crushing her with his weight.

Play continued after the incident, before LeBron realized Ellie had not recovered and time out was called. Ellie was put in a neck brace and stretchered out of Quicken Loans Arena and taken to an ambulance, according to the Bleacher Report.

After the game, which the Cavaliers won 104-100, James said he had been told Ellie was "doing great."

"It wasn't anything out of the usual besides the injury," James said, according to ESPN. "But to me, obviously her health is very important, and hopefully she's doing well. So, you know, I was going for a loose ball. Just trying to keep the possession going, and I hate that that was the end result of it."

He also put out a tweet following the game, sending his best to Ellie.

Ellie Day I hope you're doing okay! My apologies! Hope u guys come back to another game soon. Love LJ!— LeBron James (@KingJames) December 18, 2015

After a spectacular year including winning the PGA Championship, Day took out the BMW Championship in September and elevated himself to world No. 1 ranking for the first time. He and Ellie have two children, with the most recent child born in November.

It is expected she will make a full recovery.
