The new young actors leading the Star Wars franchise into a new era have been lauded for their acting chops, but the breakout star of the film was a non-human with a flair for the dramatic: the BB-8 Droid. We've already seen several iterations of BB-8 represented as working robots and models, but a new take lets you marry your BB-8 obsession with your love of Legos.

A Reddit user by the name of "hendrikdejager" recently posted his own Lego version of the BB-8 droid on the site and it turned out pretty awesome. The mechanics of putting the Lego-made droid together are pretty tedious, which is why the maker posted a demonstrational how-to video (above) on YouTube on Tuesday.

Of course, Lego does offer its own, much smaller Lego BB-8, but wouldn’t you rather earn your Star Wars Lego geek cred the old-fashioned way?
