Pokémon plus Lego -- a collaboration worth slapping your forehead and shouting, "Why didn't I think of that?!"

Unofficial Lego pro Dan McCormack used the bricks to make amazingly intricate creations of his favorite Pokémon characters. They look so authentic, you'd think they were actual sets sold by Lego. They are not, but the figures have proved so popular that fans started a Lego Ideas Project in hopes for an official set.

The project was inspired by a nostalgia-fueled revisit to Pokémon on his PC through an emulator. He had just taken his old Lego sets out of storage, so McCormack combined two childhood loves to make them fit together.

Looking at the figures, we can't figure out how McCormack made the impressive figurines. If they do end up for sale one day, we'll for sure be the first in line.
