Just weeks away from Apple's rumored iPhone 5 launch, LG -- famous for building the iPhone IPS retina display -- announced yet another display launch that's thinner and lighter than its current panels.
According to CEO Han Sang-beom, LG "just began mass production and [it doesn't] expect any disruption in supplies." His statement doesn't boldly mention that this product is for the next-generation iPhone. But we know how secretive Apple suppliers can be.
He does confirm that this will be a thinner and lighter display for smartphones. And since the time is right, the iPhone is our biggest bet as to where these displays are going to end up.
