It's been a stressful year for One Direction fans. First Zayn quits, then the band announces it's taking a break in 2016.
So when video appeared online of what appeared to show Liam Payne shoving his bandmate Louis Tomlinson on stage on Sunday, the Internet was quick to conclude the worst.
Maisie Adam, the fan who captured video, told the Daily Mail that the exchange happened after Tomlinson left the stage in between songs and forgot his lyrics.
But as it turns out, that closely cropped video doesn't tell the whole story. A fuller video appears to show Tomlinson protecting himself from retaliation after swatting at Payne's, uh, bottom half.
A representative for One Direction told the Daily Mail that the shove was just a bit of "bantering" between bandmates, a sentiment echoed in Payne's subsequent tweets regarding the incident.
