Despite declaring a war against annoying pop tunes, Australian indie station, Triple J has finally given Justin Bieber air time. Indie purists are weeping at the words.
Luckily the historic moment happened with a super impressive cover on Triple J's legendary "Like a Version" segment. Indie singer Halsey dropped the Bieb track "Love Yourself" with a NSFW edit of the word "love."
Halsey's version is much more scathing than the original, dropping the f-bomb to really ram the song's message home.
"'Cause if you like the way you look that much. Oh, baby, you should go and fuck yourself. And if you think that I'm still holding on to something, you should go and fuck yourself."
It seems even the kids who are too cool for The Biebs are forgiving the introduction of his music on the station. It might have something to do with the gold class edit. All praise to Halsey for making Bieber bearable. It seems he just needed an edge.
