Grand Theft Auto V, out Tuesday, upped the gaming ante by allowing players to switch between three characters to cause mayhem around the fictional city of Los Santos. But what if their connections run much deeper than just being partners-in-crime?
The team at GrizzlyReboots decided to shed light into the backstory of GTA V protagonists Michael, Trevor and Franklin, by featuring their shared past in a live-action YouTube video that dropped online Tuesday.

The video -- which is just as violent as GTA V -- blends elements of the game with surreal films such as Inception and Fight Club to tell a unique story.
Grand Theft Auto V is available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
