Ukraine's Dark Day Ends in 75 Deaths, EU Sanctions

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych's truce deal crumbled at the seams on Thursday after a new wave of deadly violence gripped Kiev, leaving more than 70 dead. As police and protesters clashed in the streets, European Union leaders voted to impose sanctions against the Ukrainian government, including asset freezing and visa bans, for its role in the conflict.

Christopher Miller, who is reporting from Kiev for Mashable, described the scene today as "awful."
